The object of study is thermoelectric materials Вi-Те, Pb-Te, Ag-Sb-Ge-Te, Zn-Cd-Sb, Mg-Si, Со-Sb for creation of thermoelectric heat recuperators. The purpose of the work is creation of thermoelectric materials for segmented, stage, permeable and functionally-graded structures with increased efficiency values To accomplish this purpose, computer material science methods based on optimal control theory were used, that allow designing thermoelectric converters with regard to dependences of thermoelectric material parameters on temperature and current carrier concentration. Optimal inhomogeneity functions of functionally-graded materials, optimal impurity concentrations of thermoelectric materials under study, the geometric parameters of legs and generated current density distribution have been determined whereby maximum efficiency of thermoelectric generator modules is achieved. Designs of segmented, permeable, stage modules and FGM modules have been developed whereby thermoelectric conversion efficiency is increased by a factor of 1.2-1.5 which corresponds to efficiency increase at heat recuperation to 10-15%. It has been established that in the temperature range up to 250-300 ° Сthe most efficient are Вi-Те based materials, both in segmented structures and with the use in cold stages of stage modules. In the temperature range of 300 - 500 ° Сthe best are materials based on Pb-Te, Ag-Sb-Ge-Te, however, lower manufacturing cost and superior mechanical properties of materials based on Zn-Cd-Sb, Mg-Si and Со-Sb create an alternative and expand the opportunities and areas of practical application of thermoelectric thermal into electric energy converters. The results of research were used during the execution by the Institute of contractual works, in the academic activity when executing laboratory works and delivering lectures on "Thermoelectric material science" and "Computer material science", when writing manuals and recommendations to laboratory works.
