Purpose - to provide the branch and society with the data, describing the phenomena and processes taking place in the publishing industry, the status and trends of book and media business in Ukraine. SR Results - reports (summary administrative data) on non-periodic, periodic and prolonged publications in Ukraine in 2013; aggregate data on delivery of mandatory copies of publications in 2013-2014; operational data on publication of books and brochures minority languages editions in the first half-year, 9-month period and December 2014, comparative characteristics of qualitative and quantitative indicators of the same period in 2013; to implement the Law of Ukraine "On Obligatory Copy of Documents" by the state publishing houses as a part of administration of State Committee of Ukraine and on delivery of mandatory copies of book publications issued according to the "Ukrainian book" project by publishers in Ukraine in 2013; on information classification and content of printed and electronic media materials, media coverage of book publishing in Ukraine; actualized database of Ukrainian and foreign media sources for 2014; annual report on the SR implementation. Scientific novelty: analysis of administrative data publishing products release by the publishers for 2013-2014. Quantitative and qualitative indicators and analysis of information sources that thoroughly reflect the current situation in Ukraine and abroad, their role in forming positive Ukraine's image in the world. The SR results intend for use: State Committee of Ukraine, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, other public authorities to determine government policy in publishing and information areas, publishers, media organizations. Area of application: consolidated administrative data, analytical and informational materials used in statistical, publishing, bookselling, librarianship, information fields, in research work and education, in the field of training.
