Galkin Physics and Engineering Institute of National Academy of Science of the Ukraine popup.description2 The method of analysis structure of submicrocrystalline steel using diffraction back-scattered electrons was developed. Investigations of the structure and properties low-carbon steel 20G2S treated warm twist extrusion were carried out. The data of microstructural analysis showed the formation of the fine structure in the hot twist extrusion both in longitudinal and transverse section about the axis of extrusion. Forming elongated grains in longitudinal section and the formation of equiaxed grains in the cross section has been shown. Such structure allowed to reach material hardening factor of 1.5. At the same time, the sinking strain test showed preservation plasticity at a high level. Also, the anisotropy of mechanical properties is observed. Hardening curve is flatter when deformation of the material perpendicular to the axis of the twist extrusion compared with the deformation along the axis of extrusion. Implementation low-temperature heating of steel 20G2S after a warm twist extrusion makes it possible to regulate the level of microhardness by dissolution-allocation of excess phases. This knowledge can be used in practice for welding of submicrocrystalline low-carbon steel after twist extrusion.
