The most promising are coal DGF2 (Germany) and coal Electrode-D (Ukraine) having a high adsorption capacity of the main radioactive gaseous fission products - xenon and krypton, as well as iodine vapor and methyl iodide. Ukrainian coal AU-K can also be applied to adsorption filters after processing to change its fractional composition. Analytical expressions that describe the real space energy of interatomic interaction at the grain boundaries of arbitrary type formed torsion are obtained. Splitting energy and grain boundary dilatation of the grain boundaries were calculated using the energy of the interaction of atomic layers in real space. Comparison of the expressions with the results of calculations in reciprocal space showed the adequacy of the description of energy shifts and dilatation at the grain boundaries. It is shown that grain boundary dilatation and fracture energy of the grain boundaries are mainly determined by their atomic density.
