Personal archival funds of the Stefanyk Library were the object of the study; formation of the personal archival complex, determining its relevance as a study source of the national historical and cultural heritage, organizational principles and forms of the retrospective information usage were the subject of the Research work. General scientific principles (objectivity, comprehensiveness, historism, determinism, etc.); structural and functional method, general methods (dialectics, hermeneutics, etc.), the general scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, analogy, abstraction, simulation, system analysis, etc.), and interdisciplinary methods (Science studies and Archival studies, Information science and Archival studies, Library science and Archival studies, Sources studies and Archival studies, etc.) have been applied in the course of the Research work. The level of elaboration of the Research subject in national and foreign historiography was analyzed, and the determination and processing of archival sources to the history of the formation of personal archival funds of the Manuscripts Division of the Stefanyk Library was made in accordance with the purpose of the Research work during the current year. The structural and functional features of the personal funds of the pre-soviet period have been studied. Process of formation, the original inner structure and content of the personal archival funds, in particular, have been reconstructed. The data (among others the date of accession of the pre-soviet personal archival funds) of 237 personal funds (including 94.647 archival units and 4.338 provisional archival units) have been updated, the contents of the documents have been disclosed according to the modern Archival studies principles. In particular, cards of all personal funds have been updated. Annotated list of unique documents (ten archival units) and Fund passport have been done for centralized accounting. Scientific and technical processing of archival funds (including ten personal archival funds) has been carried out during the period. The personal funds of Yevhen Nakonechnyi, Petro Medvedyk have been processed; the funds of Halyna and Oleksa Horbach, Stepan Trofymuk, Maria Derkach, Hryhorii Demian, Myroslav Prokop, Volodymyr Borys, and others are being processed. The Division has received archival materials of Halyna and Oleksa Horbach, Roman F. Kyrchiv, and Myroslav Trukhan. Two documentary (September and December 2014) and one book (February 2014) exhibitions have been prepared by Ya. Senyk to the 100th birth Anniversary of Dr Omelan M. Antonovych. Manuscripts Division in cooperation with Ossoli?ski National Institute in Wroc?aw has prepared an exhibition of documents and materials of Dr Ludwig Bernacki - the last director of the Ossolineum in Lviv (M. Dyaydyuk). Thirteen articles has been published in 2014. "Correspondence of Ukrainian culture figures to Zenon Kuzela" has been prepared by Maria Baran (282 pp.) in the publishing serie "The Epistolary Heritage".
