Aiming this, different RF generators, different combinations of background gases with different magnetic strength were used. The gases were: hydrogen, helium, or mixtures of hydrogen plus nitrogen, hydrogen plus oxygen, helium plus nitrogen, and helium plus oxygen. As the base, stationary discharge maintaining by generator operating at ultrahigh frequency (135 MHz) was served. For the first time a liquid nitrogen trap was used regularly, which was cooled for some (measured) time interval during conditioning procedure and then warmed up having been isolated both from vacuum chamber and from pumping system. The experiments demonstrate that most effective are discharges in mixtures: helium plus oxygen and hydrogen plus nitrogen. Taking these results into account, further work on cleaning of the Uragan-2M chamber walls from light impurities (oxygen, carbon) is being provided using the mixture 95% hydrogen + 5% nitrogen.
