The purpose of the work is production technology reprocessing of corundum containing purging plugs for ground blowing of metal in the steel ladles. The research methods are chemical, petrographic ones. The researches of amount influence (0, 5, 15, 25 %) of fused calcium aluminate material (containing CA6 and CA2 in the ratio = 4:1) on the main properties of corundum containing samples after firing at temperature 1580 °C have been carried out. It has been shown that with increasing of fused calcium aluminate material amount from 0 to 25 % the open porosity of samples does not almost changes and is 19.1-19.6 %, apparent density significantly decreases from 3.16 to 3.08 g/cm3, and compressive strength increases from 132 to 166 MPa. The comparison researches of corrosion resistance of corundum containing and corundum spinel vibrocasting samples to molten steel grade of "40X" at temperature 1600 ?C have been carried out. It has been shown that the corrosion resistance increases from 0.81 to 0.69 and 0.38 (corrosion index) with increasing of fused calcium aluminate material content in the row 5 -> 15 -> 25 %. As a result of influence researches of fused calcium aluminate material additive on the main properties of corundum containing samples, it is established that the corundum containing samples containing 25 % fused calcium aluminate material are characterized by the highest indicators of properties complex: open porosity of 19.6 %; apparent density 3.08 g/cm3; compressive strength of 166 MPa and corrosion resistance 0.38 (corrosion index). As a result of carried out researches, a new composition of corundum containing purging plugs (corundum containing plugs with 25 % fused calcium aluminate material additive) has been developed. The comparison researches of CaOх6Al2O3 additive influence in the optimal amount (~ 20 %), which is introduced as the fused calcium aluminate material (containing CA6 and CA2 in the ratio = 4:1), and as a high-alumina cement additive in the amount of 15 %, on the corundum samples properties have been carried out. It has been shown that the high-alumina cement additive, which is introduced into the corundum samples in the amount of 15 %, provides synthesis of CaOх6Al2O3 in the optimal amount (~ 20 %) at temperature 1580 °C. However, the main properties characteristics of samples with high-alumina cement additive are lower than analogous properties characteristics of corundum containing samples with 25 % fused calcium aluminate material additive (containing CA6 and CA2 in the ratio = 4:1): open porosity of 19.6 against 27.9 %, apparent density of 3.08 against 2.79 g/cm3, compressive strength of 166 against 116 MPa. In PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the pilot batches of purging plugs grade of "ПКШ" for ground blowing of metal have been produced. The properties of the indicated products are corresponded to technical documentation requirements. The manufactured products are intended to metallurgical plants of Ukraine for use in steel ladles at molten metal purge by gas. The work should be continued in the direction of further improvement of purging plugs production technology.5481 Product Description popup.authors Грицюк Л.В.
