The direct influence of rats' spontaneous seizures frequency on acute pilocarpine-induced seizures duration was proved. It was shown also that EEG activity initiation in the rats' frontal cortex structures during spontaneous seizures demonstrates the necessity for these mechanisms further investigation with the aim of evaluation of their mediation of chronic pilocarpine-induced seizures. Antiepileptic effect of diazepam, phenobarbital, and valproic acid in conditions of pilocarpine-induced spontaneous seizures were demonstrated firstly. It is planned to develop new therapeutic approaches that increase the efficiency of the treatment and prevention of the temporal epileptic activity.
