Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 To study basidiomycetes on their ability of producing cytokinins and to make preparations with a high cytokinin activity from fungal raw material for testing therapeutic effects as well as to manufacture therapeutic-prophylactic food additives and purely medical drugs, the modification of methods to identify cytokinins in mycelium biomass was done and pioneer data on the content of these hormones in the 6 species (Ganoderma lucidum, Trametes versicolor, Fomitopsis officinalis, Pleurotus nebrodensis, Grifola frondosa, Sparassis crispa) were obtained. Ganoderma lucidum, the strain 1900, was shown to have the widest spectrum of cytokinins. The highest total cytokinin content per 1 g of fresh weight was detected in Sparassis crispa, the strain 314, per 1 g of dry weight - in Fomitopsis officinalis.
