We have found that heterodimers BMP2/7 are most efficient activators of BMP signalling pathway and cosequently early osteogenesis. Mentioned above heterodimers were 29.9 times more efficient than BMP7/7 homodimers, 10 times more effective than BMP6/6 homodimers and 14.6 times more efficient than homodimers BMP2/2. It was also found that Secreted Phosphoprotein 24 (Spp24) is a promising modulator of BMPs' osteogenic effects. We perform investigation of molecular mechanism of Spp24 and BMP positive interaction. We used in our work human cDNAs, therefore investigated recombinant BMP and Spp24 proteins cannot provoke unwanted immune responces.
