The object of study is machining processes of holes by axial tool. Subject of research is transients on the boundary layers of the drilling packages of mixed metal/composite material. Research Methods: fundamentals of mechanical engineering, the basics of the theory of cutting, finite element method, artificial thermocouple, methods for determining the physical and mechanical properties of materials, the method of measuring the hardness, the method of determining the tribological properties of materials, method of measuring the roughness of surfaces. The methodology of finite element modeling of transient processes in the machining of holes in the mixed metal/composite material sandwiches. Proposed and implemented experimental procedures implementing the drilling holes in the mixed carbon fiber/metal sandwiches, as well as physical-mechanical and tribological properties of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. It investigated and substantiated the influence of various factors on the force and cutting temperature, mechanical damage to the surface of the hole in packages CFRP/metal at the boundary between the layers of the package.
