For analysis, we used two types of samples: obtained vacuum arc melting and sintering of powder from industrial steel type 12X18H10T injected with reinforcing particles stabilized ZrO2 Y2O3, with a grain size of 0.1 - 0.5 microns. The experiments lead to the following conclusions: 1) developed a non-destructive method for studying precipitation hardened steels oxides released into the atmosphere by the proton beam, with which you can determine the elemental composition of the samples and their distribution; 2) worked out a procedure for analyzing the distribution of yttrium and zirconium oxides by varying the size of the proton beam; 3) electropolishing operation leads to a change in concentration of the elements on the sample surface; 4) revealed a small dependence of the concentration of chemical elements on the diameter of the proton beam. Two methods of separating 4He2+ and H2+ beams on the IBA facilities "Sokol" of KIPT were tested: use of the existing beam-bending magnet and electrostatic analyzer; collapse of H2+ ions when the beam passes through the carbon foil. These methods allow significantly reduce the content of H2+ ions in the 4He2+ beam and it was shown. An example of 4He2+ beam application with energy 3 MeV for studying multi-layer structure consisting of 13 layers of Ta2O5 and SiO2 was shown.
