Subject of the study: specificity of the branch science development in the context of the democratization and informatization of social and political processes. Purpose of the research: to determine priorities, objectives and mechanisms for the development of the branch science in the period of 2015-2020. Methods of the research: analysis and synthesis, content analysis, historical, systematic, comparative, functional, cultural-institutional, descriptive. Theoretical and practical results: state and current tendencies in the development of scientific researches in records management and archival affairs were defined; achievements and problems in the branch science development were analysed; unused resources and solutions to existing problems were identified; reasonably promising ways for scientific researches for the near future were justified, and action plan for their effective realisation was suggested. The novelty of the research: for the first time was worked out the Programme for the Branch Science Development in 2015-2020 taking into account the necessity of its systemic development and expanding the range of scientific directions. Scope of implementation: The research results can be used in practice, scientific-research and methodical activities of state archival institutions of Ukraine, individual agencies of the NAS of Ukraine, profile departments of education establishments. Conducted research has scientific-theoretical, methodological and practical value and can be extended in the form of further research projects aimed at studying the actual theoretical and practical problems in records keeping and archival study, and the development of analytical-recommendation and methodological materials for state power bodies of Ukraine. The effectiveness of implementation: the results of the study create a methodological framework for the innovative development of the branch science in the near future and identify promising research areas of theoretical and practical direction.
