The result of conducted research consists in the draft of the Rules of Fire Safety for State Archival Institutions of Ukraine revising the valid regulatory-legal act concerning fire safety for archives. The developed document displays new requirements of current legislation of Ukraine and other legal acts in force in the sphere of fire protection providence, modern approaches to fire safety of archival institutions, and the latest achievements of science and technology in this dimension. Standards and requirements contained in the project regulate the requirements for fire safety of areas, buildings, facilities of archival institutions, the organization and control of fire safety implementation in archival institutions, responsibilities and actions of the archives staff in case of fire, the safe equipment operation, security requirements to certain types of archival and other works for fire safety implementation. Recommendations to research results implementation: requirements developed in the document are mandatory for central and branch state archives, the State Archives of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, state archives in regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, archives department of the regional, district in Kyiv and Sevastopol state administrations, archival departments of state research institutions, museums and libraries of state and municipal property conducting documents preservation in the National Archival Holdings.
