Purpose: to identify the basic principles for acquisition of state archives by statistical documentation that would reduce duplication of statistical reports, which is typical due to establishment’s horizontal communication with state statistics bodies, public administration and other legal entities; it also concerns the documents of institutions vertically subordinate within one system (branch) during their admission to one archival institution. Methods of the research: comparative historical analysis, terminology analysis, structural-functional analysis, classification, informational providence, sources study, surveys, scientific cognition. While working on the research was conducted selective survey of regions state archives, studied the experience of state archives of Kyiv and Donetsk regions on acquisition by statistical documentation, processed records nomenclatures of central and regional state statistics bodies, state administrative bodies, other agencies. Were selected types of statistical documentation, created a working version of «The Guidelines for Acquisition of State Archival Institutions by Statistical Documentation» and compiled the List of types of statistical documentation being transferred for permanent storage to the state archival institutions. The practical significance of the study was that, establishing the uniform procedure for the transfer and determination of the list of statistical documents types undergoing permanent storage in the state archival institutions will reduce the likelihood of admission to the permanent storage statistical documents with duplicate information. The Guidelines and the Lists are for practical use in the central state archives, state archives in regions, in the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, the State Archives of the Crimea during the selection of statistical documentation for permanent storage.
