With the aid of Department for Ecology, Zakarpatska Oblast (Region) Administration, we conducted the restoration of herbage on eroded and heavy metals polluted soils by means of the revegetation of permanent and variable meadows with the participation of bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus corniculatus, L.). Novelty of the research work lies in the introduction of complex bioremediation of degraded ecosystems with nitrogen-fixing legumes, with the purpose of heavy metals accumulation, soil enrichment with nitrogen compounds, and termination of further devastation of ecosystems.
