The research goal is to select components of a prolonged life for a three-element welded truck, to develop designs of added braces of the truck for the increase in the life of its elements and the car dynamic performance. The research methods are mathematical modeling and computer simulation, statistical dynamics, mathematical statistics, vibration theory. The results obtained. All elements in corpore of a comprehensive modernization of the 18-100 truck and special-developed elastic adapters in axle-box junctions and diagonal braces between side frames have been selected for the equipment configuration of the three-element welded truck. The results of theoretical studies demonstrated the efficiency of such an equipment configuration of the three-element truck from the standpoint of the improvement in the freight car dynamic performance and decrease in wear of its wheels. A variant of design of elastic adapter in axle-box junction of welded truck is developed for the purpose of reduction of dynamic impact on welded elements of running gears. The design of diagonal braces between the side frames is proposed considering special features of its welded construction. Applications: freight rolling stock of railways.
