The work objective in whole to develop the scientific bases of composite cathode materials making with low values of electron work function and high values of thermionic current density (to 1000 A/cm2) for their using in rocket-space engineering and other branch of industry. Purpose of the stage is the analysis of the emission characteristics interconnection (electron work function, thermionic current density, stability of emission) and composition and morphology of composition materials structure. In addition, it is necessary to develop the new standards of technological plasma generators of Hall type, which allow to obtain the coatings of pure metals, to regulate the composition of components both on a thickness and along product. The results of the composition and structure study of the composite cathode materials in the system BaхSr1-хHfO3-W before and after emission tests carried out at temperatures to 2000 K, investigations of the temperature dependences of electron work function of TmB12 (110), and spectral emissivity of thulium dodecaboride are presented in the report. The emitter material thermal properties influence on cathode heat condition is investigated. Taking into account the research results the cathode construction modernization is performed. It is intended for thermal stress lowering in cathode construction at lowering of product mass. The mathematical model of discharge parameters description in technological plasma generator is presented. Discharge characteristics of inverse magnetron spray-type system with gas anode sectioned by cathode units and axial plasma flow are studied. For realization of selected scheme the new plasma generator is developed. It makes it possible for form two dimensional functionally gradient coating of great number of certain component coating source that are in pure form.
