A comparative analysis of the wear resistance of the investigated steel and one of the widely used steels after thermomechanical hardening is made. A study of the strength and toughness of high-carbon steel after heat treatment, with a controlled delay in the g-region performed. It is found that a combination of high toughness and high strength can provide structure of fine ferritie-cementite mixture with a minimum size of the colonies.
