Aim: development of scientific basis for advanced purification of natural and waste waters in terms of biofilm biocenosis use on abiotic carrier and study the possibilities to control of biofilm properties. Methods: the study of adsorption equilibrium and dynamics, microbiological, biochemical investigations. The main results: it shown that efficiency of extraction from water synthetic and natural organic matters can be increased by the use of change of hydrodynamic regime of biofiltration, oxygen content in solutions, modification of active carbon surface by ferric oxide. The active producers of microbial cells and biofilm matrix were studied. The conditions of BAC regeneration by the use of extraction macromolecules lipopolysaccharide and protein nature from BAC were determined. The methods of renewal of filter work with BAC for obtaining of high-quality drinking water were introduced in production.
