Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 The aim of the research consisted in defining the early stages of leukemic transition of non-Hodgkin malignant lymphomas (NHL) based on the cytomorphological and immunocytochemical findings upon studying the cells in peripheral blood and bone marrow. The technique for immunocytochemical detection directly in smears with the specially designed panels of monoclonal antibodies to lineage-specific and differentiation antigens of B cells corresponding to the various maturation stages of B cells was used for the detection of the neoplastic clone. 729 patients with various NHL have been examined. The results of the study might be useful for elaborating the supplementary criteria in clinical staging, monitoring treatment efficacy as well as for elucidating the mechanisms of leukemic lesions in bone marrow.
