The schematic solutions that enable to realize the compact laser interferometric displacement sensors with subnanometer sensitivity have been proposed based on the analysis of the existing technologies for measuring small displacements using laser interferometers, calculation of the parameters of the optical elements and optic-mechanical schemes. It was experimentally established that the interferometer scheme developed ensures its reliable operation at distances of 200 - 800 microns to the test object. The possible detected amplitude of displacement achieved the value of 0.1 nm. The program prototype for quick calculating the average speed of the displacement of the surface, which reflects the incident laser radiation in one of the arms of a fiber optic Michelson interferometer, has been developed using the MatLab software.
