Karazin popup.description2 Object of studies: superhard compositional coatings (including multilayer) based on Ti, Zr and Mo. Objectives: experimental investigations of morphology, crystalline structure and composition of superhard coatings, prepared by means of ion-plasma deposition method. Methods: structure and morphology of the films have been studied with trans-mission and scanning electron microscopy, X-Ray diffraction and X-ray spectros-copy methods. The morphological structure of superhard composite single and multilayer coatings based on titanium, and zirconium have been studied with scanning electron microscopy methods. Above mentioned films have been prepared by means of ion assisted vacuum arc deposition method. New data on variation of their crystalline structure and phase composition depending on the preparation conditions have been obtained. The main results have been received for the first time, they are actual for de-velopment of experimental-industrial technologies of formation of superhard (40-50GPa) nanostructured single and multilayer (as well as composite) coatings on the basis of ІV-VІ Mendeleev groups metal nitrides as well as their employment on the machinery plant of Ukraine.
