As a result of scientific studies defined the biochemical parameters and productive potential of hybrids of melon Dnipro and watermelon Obrii are shown at various methods of seed multiplication. Established the economic feasibility of the scheme for obtaining hybrid seeds when sowing of the parental components of the mixture of 1:1 and 2:1 in free pollination, in which the cost of cultivation of seeds in comparison with the analogues is reduced by the watermelon at 3250 UAH./ha, melons - 3750 UAH./ha, the cost is 1.4 and 3.2 times, respectively. In Ukrainian Institute of intellectual property filed an application for utility model "Method of growing seeds of heterotic hybrids of watermelon and melon" (№ 2015 u 10530 from 28.10.2015). New method in comparison with the analog for the melon will help to reduce production costs by 3.0 thousand UAH./ ha, of 500 people an hour./ha. for watermelon - to increase the seed yield by 15-18%. Seeding a mixture of parental forms in the ratio 1:1 and 2:1 in comparison with analogue provides a reduction in labor costs to 50-55 man-day (3250-3750 UAH./ha) and cost of hybrid seeds 1.4-3.2 times when a sufficient level of hybridity of seeds. This method of growing seeds will increase the quantity and quality of hybrid seed from the area of reproduction with breeding hybrids.
