Mathematical modeling methods of light collection in scintillation detectors using software packages Geant4, Zemax and Litrani are developed and tested in the experiment . The effect of tungsten doping and excess of molybdenum on the scintillation properties of zinc molybdate crystals is studied. Low-temperature scintillating bolometers with calcium molybdate crystals for the study of rare nuclear decays are developed and tested. The concept of large cryogenic scintillation detector is developed for the study of rare nuclear decays and measurements of radioactive contaminations of scintillation crystals and materials for low background set-ups. The distribution of radioactive thorium and radium contaminations in zinc tungstate scintillators at the sensitivity level of 0.01 mBq/kg as promising detectors for the study of radioactive contamination of environmental samples. Radioactive contaminations of a cadmium tungstate scintillator (CdWO4) with enriched isotopes of cadmium-106 and 116 is investigated with aim to develop low-background scintillation detectors based on CdWO4 scintillators. The methods of purification of cerium oxide from thorium impurities are developed with aim to develop cerium-contained scintillator materials to study radioactive contamination of environmental samples. The methods of mathematical modeling using Geant4 software package for estimation the levels of absorbed doses in the Chernobyl zone are developed.
