Some aspects of the environmental conditions in habitats and population parameters of the species were determined. It was found that both of the species are characterized by a considerable fragmentation of habitats and this, together with the specific local ecological conditions, can affect the features of the distribution of genetic diversity. The primer informativeness was determined and effective PCR-based markers were selected for the assessment of genetic diversity and genetic structure in populations of G. lutea and I. pumila.
