Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 Character growth and kinetic culture characteristics of nine new algal strains belonging to genera Acutodesmus (2), Chlorella (2), Desmodesmus (2), Monoraphidium (2) and Selenastrum (1) isolated from different regions of Ukraine were investigated in comparison with five well-know high biomass productive strains from collection IBASU-A. It was established that the growth cavers and values of kinetic culture characteristics (specific rate and productivity) of the new algal strains and well-know high biomass producers were very close under the same growth conditions of intensive cultivation. The considerable increase of all parameters of algal growth due to the influence of accompanying bacteria under extensive growth condition of cultivation and it's absent under intensive ones was found. More 22 new strains as potential producers of biomass were isolated from Ukrainian territory. Promising biomass producers were determined new strains of IBASU-A Chlorella vulgaris 454 and Selenastrum gracile 580.
