The purpose of the study - to im prove the method of selection of millet immunity, create and submit to state variety testing ranno- and middle-grade millet. Metods of research - reusable finishing papels from hybrid material received from different types of crossing that was evaluated on the natural and artificial infectious background. The main result of research - in 2014 sort of millet Zaporizhne is registered and in 2015—the first amilopectin sort of millet Chabanivske was registered. The method of assessment of race-specific resistance to smut by selection of 5 pathotypes instead of 13, for creation of infectious background. 2 sorts-Zhuvunka(application № 15014002 from 05.11.2015) are sent to the state sort-trial. It is given to recommending plant-breeding practice - Тo enlist sources in the selection process when creating resistant to smut sorts of millet, then combine resistance to the most aggressive and the most vsrulence races with another economically valuable features.
