In the course of mechanical treatment of Li2B4O7 single crystal surfaces at various stages (the initial surface, abrasive, diamond, chemical-and-mechanical polishing) a "roughness arc" is observed due to the variation of the microrelief height parameters ratio. Eu3+ ion is shown to be the best sensibilizer for the Li2B4O7 glassy matrix. Radiation effects in "silicate glass + CdS1-xSex (CdSe1-xTex) nanocrystals" composites are studied.
