The purpose is to study the exposure of hippocampus for interventional cardiologists and to compare doses in the hippocampus with the effective dose in order to estimate the possibility to reach the levels of cognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders. Study methods: computer modeling, analytica methods, Monte Carlo simulation of hippocampal exposure by using a hybrid doctor voxel-mathematical phantom irradiated in typical angiographic projections and energy spectra inherent to interventional cardiology procedures. Results show that cranial irradiation is very inhomogenious, depending on the projection doses of left and right parts of the hippocampus may be about five times different in quantity, under certain conditions, the dose of the left part may exceed twice the effective dose, estimated by using double dosimetry algorithm.
