The aim of study - foundation of theoretical and methodological principles, as well as methodical tools for defining the ways of modernization and development of fixed capital, and elaboration of investment models for ensuring their implementation in the Western Ukraine. The methods of study - trend analysis, integration, expert and rating estimation, balance estimation, economic modeling etc. Guidelines for integrated assessment of the region fixed capital have been developed. Comparative analysis of indicators trends, which reflect the technical and economic situation, movement and efficiency of the fixed capital use in Ukraine and its Western region has been performed. The regions and economic activities (industry, construction and transport) have been grouped according to values of total and partial integral indices of fixed capital. The enterprises of the region production sector have been distributed by their forms of fixed capital reproduction, using multi-criterion method. A set of measures for structural and organizational modernization of production sector management at the regional level has been formed. A forecast mathematical model for calculation of dynamics of fixed capital original cost at the micro level considering the re-investment mechanism, has been developed. An organizational model of resource providing for technical and technological modernization of the fixed capital of the production sector has been offered. The main results of the research were implemented in the activities of the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine, of 4 regional councils, 5 regional and 2 district administrations.
