The object of the research - movable monuments of traditional folk culture of Polissia regions affected by the Chornobyl disaster. The research objective - detecting and preservation of movable monuments of traditional folk household and art of the residents of the affected villages of Kamin-Kashyrskyi and Ratnivskyi districts, Volynska region, as well as the formation of the fund collections of Museum-archive of Ukrainian Polissia folk culture by the monuments of traditional material culture, which are peculiar to the explored territory. The research methods - field collection of the museum value materials and accompanying information, analytical processing and scientific inventory of the collected material monuments, as well as the standard methods of register and storage of the museum items. During the first half of 2012-2013, the comprehensive expedition to 27 affected by the radio contamination settlements of Kamin-Kashyrskyi and Ratnivskyi districts, Volynska region was held for the purpose of collecting ethnographic monuments. The complex of works on conservation and scientific inventory of the collected objects of the museum value has also been done. As a result of works proceeded: 737 new monuments of Polissia traditional folk culture were collected, the scientific inventory of 705 exhibits was done. Obtained results of the research will be useful for creation of exposition of the Museum-archive of Ukrainian Polissia folk culture. Due to the negative consequences of the Chornobyl disaster and the surfacing effect of technological progress that fundamentally change traditional way of live of Polissia inhabitants, the process of collecting ethnographic monuments in the affected regions continues to be an actual problem of contemporary ethnography.
