Objective: To explore the cultural and communication foundations of professional specialists in editorial and publishing industry, followed by the prospect of creating science-based model of training specialists in the universities of Ukraine. To achieve this goal, verification and validation of the proposed solutions and hypotheses are used as complex methodology that includes specific principles and approaches of scientific research: 1) theoretical methods - analysis of special scientific-theoretical, methodological and pedagogical literature and new dissertations containing the essential scientific generalizations about specific quality training of modern professional editorial and publishing industry. There are used actively traditional philological methods - historical and functional, comparative typological, historical, literary, hermeneutical, contextual and intermedialnyy and applied techniques of sociocultural and communicative approaches to the analysis and evaluation of specific artifacts; 2) empirical methods - surveys, questionnaires, tests, interviews with students, problem formulation tasks and lectures-dialogues; 3) in some cases there are used statistical analysis methods. The scientific novelty of the research: - Deeply traditional views and conclusions on the methodological and pedagogical foundations of professional training and employee editor modern publishing industry; - Formal directions of professional competencies editor of reliance on the content of training new university disciplines; - Considered in a broad context background components of professional skills in editor skills that potentially provide the greatest possible personal adaptation and implementation.
