Object of the study - contemporary Far Eastern studies, trans-civilization comparative literature in an age of globalization, the impact of Western and Eastern literary canon in the writings of contemporary Chinese, Japanese, Asian-Euro-Atlantic writers, as well as European writers, whose writings have been strongly influenced by Eastern poetics. The purpose is to explore the eastern poetological component of bicultural Asian and Euro-Atlantic writings in the parameters of literary imagology correlating the literary tradition of representation the image of China and Japan in the West and the East, as well as the discursive images of Chinese/Japanese understood by the science. Methods of research - literary-historical, comparative, culture-historical, hermeneutical. The academic novelty of the research is determined by two factors. Firstly, the theoretical novelty: in the field of trans-civilization literary studies there are few works studying bicultural (East-West) literary phenomena. Secondly, national Far Eastern literary studies offers too little attention to Asian-Euro-Atlantic writers whereas overseas (international) science does not examine eastern component of their writings within the terms of imagology. The content of the report can be used both for further theoretical, comparative, and literary conceptualization of the phenomena at the age of globalization and for in-depth study of contemporary modern Chinese, Japanese and Asian-Euro-Atlantic writings. The results of the study can be used for lectures on the history of world literature, comparative literature, special courses on literary imagology stimulating further development of this discipline. Prognostic assumptions concerning the development of the object of the study - further theoretical and methodological advances for comparative analysis of contemporary Eastern and Western writers study in the terms of imagology issues.
