The purpose of the work is to probe modern Slavonic languages linguistic units of different levels in semantic, structural and functional aspects. To achieve this aim and to solve the tasks of research we used a complex method which includes the system of co-ordinated scientific research methods: 1) theoretical methods are the analysis of scientific linguistic literature on the research issue; 2) scientific methods are induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis; 3) linguistic methods are: descriptive, context's interpretation, supervision; 4) empiric methods are a linguistic design, discourse-analysis, a linguistic experiment; 5) methods of mathematical statistics (if necessary). The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it gives: 1) a specified and deep picture of polysemantic words semantic structure and its development; semantico-grammatical status of new borrowings; grammatical status of emotional substantivased units; criteria of polysemy phenomena differentiating and everysemy; methods of persons new names creation; 2) theoretically grounded, developed methods of language study of lexical composition dynamics, researches of nominative units of special discourse and onym vocabulary, which is experimentally approved; 3) monographic research of vocative units conducted in epistolary discourse, which is a considerable contribution to the development of a new philological discipline - epistolarics. The results of the conducted research can be drawn and conclusions in further scientific developments of linguistic units of modern Slavonic languages can be made, they can be used in the educational process with the purpose of increase of students educational competence level, at drafting on-line tutorials, at preparation of optional courses, delivering classes, writing term and diploma papers. The prognostic suppositions in relation to the development of research object are a deep study of modern active processes influence in language development in semantics, structure and functioning of linguistic units of different levels.
