The virtual absence of the activation barrier for the penetration of hydrogen into the crystal lattice of the ferrite has been showed on the basis of quantum-chemical calculations. At the same time, absorption of hydrogen in cementite occurs with increased activation energy. The influence of hydrogen desorption to the micro-hardness, stress, surface topography of ferrite-pearlite steels and their structural components has been shown. It is shown that with increasing carbon content in steels susceptibility to hydrogenation of these characteristics decreases. Fragmentation of ferrite and pearlite after electrolytic hydrogenation has been revealed. Tribological characteristics of hydrogenated steels at dry and boundary friction has been determined. It is showed that desorption of hydrogen intensifies the wear of materials with dispersing mechanism.
