The purpose of research - to examine patterns of productivity formation, agronomic traits in barley plants and a source material for breeding high performance, competitive barley varieties that combine the adaptive capacity of hulled barley and the quality and determination of the main directions of their use. Research Methods: varietal hybridization, chemical mutagenesis, hibrydological analysis, selection. According to the research results, there was made an evaluation of 85 collectible sort samples of barley. Were highlighted Top 25 samples by valuable plant-breeding grounds. Was made a hybridizationand and as a result, were created 59 new hybrid combinations. In hybrid nurseries of first, second, third generation and control nursery were studied and created hybrid combinations of lines and mutant forms compared with the original forms and standards. Was created a completely new source material for breeding barley with set parameters that are adapted to the conditions of forest-steppe of Ukraine.
