A research objective is development of representations about influence of anionic substitution for oxygen in chalcogenides and fluorides of metals of II-IV groups on their structure and functional properties as materials for interference optics. It is established that removal oxygen-containing impurity in chalcogenides of metals is the most effective with use Sb2S3 as the sulfidizing agent. For full removal of rests of Sb2S3 it is offered the CVD - approach. Cleared in a similar way ZnS shows low optical losses on scattering (0.03%) and very high mechanical durability (up to 30000 rotations) in a thin-film coating. Possibility of effective fluorination of an oxide impurity (MgO) in a film-forming material magnesium fluoride by means of complex antimony fluoride of (NH4)2SbF5 is shown.
