Objective of the project: scientific basis of geo-ecological foundations of rational use of Kuyalnik Estuary natural resources in the context of sustainable development of Odesa and Odesa region. Methods: Carried out expeditionary field studies with laying geomorphological profiles in key areas, conventional hydrological, hydro-chemical, geomorphological, hydro-biological, geographical, landscape-geochemical and soil genetic research; used cartographic methods of mathematical statistics and spatial analysis using modern GIS technology. Coordinate attachment of observation stations, places of soil profiles were carried out with the help of portable satellite navigation devices. Complex laboratory tests were performed in a certified laboratory of the Institute on the callibrated equipment (spectrophotometers "Specord M400", "Ulab-101" analyzer of petroleum hydrocarbons "Micran" spectrophotometers "Saturn - 3-P" and "C115-M1 Ionomir I-160 and etc.), tests in the field - with the help of portable devices for special purposes. As a result - composed modern characteristic of climatic conditions, determined the degree of development of the resource potential of the study area and its current ecological condition. Determined the major factors of hydrological regime destabilization and state of humus in the study area. Created groundwater map of the study area and maps of water contamination for the 2005-2015 period. Novelty, scientific and practical significance: For the first time, based on the results of structural studies of complex ecosystem components of the environment and the structure of the natural landscape complexes proposed a concept of comprehensive utilization of natural recreational potential of Kuyalnik estuary. Created maps of large-scale development of the resource potential of the region. The results of comprehensive research on the ecosystem will be used to develop and implement measures to restore water regime and for the conservation of biodiversity in the area.
