The purpose of the study: The aim of the study was to appraise the spatial changes and evolution of diversity of model groups of biota along environmental gradients in Ukraine and describe the features of modern florae and faunae on the cenotic, local and regional levels. In carrying out research were used methods of paleontological, soil-zoological, floristic and hydrobiological studies. According to the results of the research were: (1) described the historIcal and spatial trends of diversity of model groups of biota along environmental gradients of the studied region, (2) formulated scientific hypotheses about evolutionary scenarios faunogenesis of model groups of invertebrates and vascular plants (3) proposed the new environmental classification of Collembola and amphibiotic insects, also phylogenetic schemes of Nematoda and Protura, (4) described new species of horses from the Pleistocene-Holocene of Ukraine, fossil and modern taxa of hydro- and pedobionts, (5) characterized the taxonomic and ecological structure of the some groups of fauna and flora on the cenotic, local and regional levels. As a result of research were published 3 books (Voichyshyn V. - The Early Devonian armoured agnathans of Podolia, Ukraine; Bakayeva S.G. - Late Cretaceous Gastropoda molluscs of the Volyn-Podillya; Danyluk K.M. - Flora of vascular plants of the Regional Landscape Park "Nadsyansky" ), 1 textbook (Novikov A., Barabash-Krasny B. - Modern plant systematics. General problems: manual), brochure (Tasenkevich L., Kruhlov I., Kalinovych N., Inkin E., Puka E., Chernobay Yu., Veen P. - Inventory of grasslands of the Ukrainian Carpathians), catalog of museum funds (Voichyshyn V.K - Devonian Fish Fauna) and 109 articles, of which 49 in foreign editions. Prepared for publication "Catalogue of the holotypes of fossil fauna and flora of State Natural History Museum of NASU" (D.M. Drygant) and the monograph "Predacious Nematodes (Mononchida) of Ukraine" (A.S Susulovskyi). The results of research were used to create of identification keys for model groups of invertebrates, replenishment of museum collections of fauna and flora, electronic databases, creating of biostratygraphic division and correlation schemes of sediments, building of wildlife exhibitions, writing chronicles of nature reserves of Ukraine, and published in the form of scientific papers.
