Subject of research: methods and software for the automation of EPS supervisory control. The structure of the microprocessor automatic equipment for the stability control for post-emergency states of the power systems is formed and studied. Its adaptability, unlike the existing systems, is provided by the regular calculation of the volumes controlling the automation actions, using the information about the current states. This information is provided by the state estimation based on the remote measurement, developed at the Institute of Electrodynamics as a part of COSMOS software package. The calculation algorithms for the volumes of automated equipment controlling actions are implemented in the software, which is a part of the operating technological component of the project for the microprocessor hardware and software complex of the adaptive emergency automation to ensure stability in the Southern section of the UES of Ukraine. The intellectualized system to automate the setup of power systems protection equipment, using an automatically generated script frame, which improves the quality of the operating value settings of protective relay of complex electrical networks is developed and researched. The medium-term forecasting of electric load, implemented by the "KORASP" software package by taking into account a number of factors and improvements of mathematical models of load, has the increased efficiency. It was shown for the first time that the incorporation of technological modes of energy-intensive industries, meteorological and astronomical factors in combination with the established methodology of output information verification helps improve the accuracy and stability of the results of short-term forecasting at all hierarchical levels of the UES of Ukraine. The method of optimization of the steady state conditions regarding the voltage and reactive power using a limited number of controlling actions influencing the objective function the most is developed.
