Aim: to investigate the colloid-chemical bases of the processes of aqueous solutions separation in the ceramic, ultrafiltration membrane and to determine the conditions of their rational operation; to investigate the role and behavior of natural organic matter in water treatment processes; determine the appropriate range of test object and the biomarkers, which are most sensitive to natural organic substances. Methods: physical, physical-chemical, microbiological methods, biotesting, analysis of contents of toxic organic and inorganic matters. The main results: a series of studies concerning of the colloid-chemical concepts of behaviour processes in the ceramic membrane, ultrafiltration membrane, precoating layers of zirconium oxide are made and defined rational conditions for effective processes separation operation. The role and behavior of natural organic substances, monitoring of natural impurities in water sources are investigated, new solutions to intensify the processes of water treatment and methods for the determination of impurities in natural water are proposed. Improved and perfected methods of application of complex test objects and biomarkers that are most sensitive to natural organic substances are defined. The catalytic properties of bifunctional photocatalysts, adsorbents in the process of photocatalytic degradation of organic pollution of water are investigated.
