The purpose of work - on the base of biochemical and morphological analyses to derive promising wild species of flax in agricultural and decorative directions, to establish a connection between the level of productivity and morphology of pigments in linseed, to investigate the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of lectins in connection with the adaptation of linseed plants to abiotic stresses, to develop the methods of microgametophytic selection of heat-resistant sunflower genotypes, to study the genetics of certain qualitative characteristics of honesty. Research methods - hybridological analysis, light microscopy, germination in artificial nutrient media, spectrophotometry, field and laboratory experiments, statistical analysis. For the first time it was found that the protein content in L. thracicum is greater than in linseed, L. hispanicum has the increased content of saturated fatty acids in oil, L. grandiflorum - oleic and L. thracicum - linoleic acid than linseed; it was established an association between morphological parameters of chloroplasts in chlorophyll parts of the plants and the degree of their depression and productivity in linseed; in the process of linseed sustainability to abiotic stress factors, a change not only the lectin activity and carbohydrate specificity, depending on the type of stress is observed; it was found that pollen heating sunflower increases the heat- and drought tolerance and adaptation properties of the plant population; the patterns of inheritance of qualitative traits of leaves and flowers of honesty was revealed. The results can be used in the creation of varieties and hybrids of agricultural and ornamental plants as new methods or sources of valuable traits, when writing the books on genetics and plant physiology, when the thesis preparation on relevant topics, as well as in the educational process in teaching the courses "Plant physiology and biochemistry", "Ecological genetics", "Breeding of ornamental plants", "Genetic collections" and others.
