The purpose of the research - investigation of recombinative variation of economic traits of soft winter wheat, improvement and development of new breeding methods, creation of new highly intensive varieties with yield potential of 9,5-11,5 t/ha and high quality grain, resistant to biotic and abiotic stress factors, well adapted to current production practices. Methods of research: field, laboratory, phenological observations, statistic calculations. Results of the research. Using various genetic sources, simple and complex types of crosses and modern estimation methods we have finished the research programme for the period from 2011 to 2015 which resulted in the development of highly intensive soft winter wheat varieties with high genetic productive potential. Fifteen varieties: Nasnaha, Veteran, Vigen, Obriad, SGI-100, Rozkvit, Storytsia, Perepilka, Slaven, Postat’, Khvala, Sich, Kozyr, Klad and Kubok were passed to the State variety testing in the period from 2011 to 2015. During the same period (2011-2015), 15 new varieties that had been developed before were registered in the State Register of plant cultivars Able for distribution in Ukraine. The new released cultivars are: Pylypivka, Vatazhok, Zorepad, Nebokrai, Hurt, Dobrochyn, Khyst, Lanovyi, Zysk, Zvytiaha, Nasnaha, Veteran, Vigen, Obriad, Storytsia. In 2015, the expert council recommended three of the cultivars (SGI-100, Rozkvit, and Perepilka) to be registered in the "State Register". The other varieties (Slaven, Postat’, Khvala, Sich, Kozyr, Klad and Kubok) are being tested in the state variety testing system. Some investigations of recombinative variability of economic traits of soft winter wheat have been made. The breeding efficiency of gene sour that were received from the department of genetic bases of breeding, phytopathology and entomology department, the department of genetics and our own collections has been studied. During several last year’s new donors of grain quality including introgressive genotypes that originated from crosses with other – Triticum species (Tr. palmovae, Tr. dicoccoides), and its close relatives (Aegilops, amfidyploidy, hard wheat and elimus) are being involved to the program of hybridization. According to this program, 3 varieties have been developed: Veteran, Vigen and Kozyr. 25 wheat varieties that were developed in the laboratory are widely used in agriculture production in Ukraine and other countries. We provide foundation seeds of all the cultivars. During the period 2011-2015 we produced 396209 kg of the seeds. In 2015 two methods (useful models) of breeding were passed to the Institute of Intellectual Property: 1. The method of selection parents for plant hybridization. 2. The method of breeding soft winter wheat for high grain quality. Keywords: soft winter wheat, variety, foundation seeds, seed production, variety testing, yield, grain quality, winter hardiness, drought resistance. The scientific newness. The new generation of highly intensive cultivars of soft winter wheat have yield potential 9,5-11,5 t/ha and superior grain quality. They are resistant to extreme biotic and abiotic factors, well-adapted to current agricultural techniques. Two new breeding methods have been invented. The effect of introduction. The introduction of new cultivars will increase the yield of high-quality grain for 10 % in average. The new varieties will be grown on the area of 500000 ha. The profit is supposed to be about 1 million hryvnias every year. Area of using. Agricultural business of different forms of property. The new breeding methods will be used in breeding work in PBGI - NCSC and other scientific institutions of NAAS of Ukraine.
