The aim of the research is to explore the effective criteria for selection of inbred lines with genetically modified starch and creating on this basis of maize hybrids and soriz varieties as bioenergy sources for ethanol production. Research methods - standard and innovative methods to create inbred lines, methods for population breeding, biochemical and statistical analysis. Theoretical and practical results: the bioenergy potential assessment of major registered corn hybrids for their paternal starch content, its fractional composition, bioethanol production per a grain and area unit. There were created and transferred to the State variety testing the waxy corn hybrid Finish 350 VK with genetically modified starch compositing and potential grain productivity of 11,5 – 12,0 t/ha. Two soriz varieties Fontan and Oktan with increased ethanol production were submitted to state variety testing. Scientific-technical products can be used in agricultural, chemical and ethanol industries production.
