Goal: grounding of theoretical and methodological basis and methodical approaches to development of the system of ecological security regulation in cross-border region in terms of Ukraine's European integration and elaborating of recommendations on their practical use. Urgency and importance of the research stem from the necessity of scientific grounding of basic foundations and mechanisms of ecological security goals achievement in cross-border regions of Ukraine and EU countries and are stipulated by international obligations of Ukraine, in particular concerning European integration and implementation of sustainable development strategic goals. In the course of the topic development the theories of sustainable development, institutionalism, cross-border convergence and the methods of analysis and synthesis, comparison, abstraction, statistical analysis, systemic method, etc were used. According to the research results the scientific, methodological and practical provisions over the nature of cross-border ecological security and mechanisms of its management were expanded and basic directions and tasks over ecological security achievement in cross-borer regions of Ukraine and EU countries were defined. Expansion of scientific basis of forming of ecological security mechanism in cross-border region and practical proposals over its improvement in terms of cross-border regions of Ukraine and European Union are the ultimate products and major scientific results of the research. The results of scientific and research work are introduced into practical activity, including the central executive authorities. It is expected that the research object will develop towards institutional and sectoral detalization of improvement of ecological security regulation mechanisms in cross-border regions.
