The methods of the investigation: statistical, analytical. The analysis of the scientific researches in dentistry, carried out during 1995-2013 in the scientific establishments and medical institutes of high education of Ukraine, was made. 22% of them made the fundamental works. The priority fields of the scientific researches in dentistry were determined to be the study of etiological and pathogenetic mechanisms of the appearance and development of the main stomatological diseases, the elaboration of the means and methods of their prevention and treatment, as well as the elaboration of the theoretical bases of the organization of stomatological aid to population. There is the certain sequence in the distribution of works between stomatological specialties: therapeutic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthopedic dentistry, dental surgery, orthodontics, organization of stomatological aid. The national databank of the stomatological morbidity of the population of different age groups in Ukraine was formed, it corresponds to the standards of the World Health Organization.
