Theoretical and experimental study of main patterns of pulse electrohydraulic forming of high-strength steel sheets is carried out. The method for recording maximum deflection of the plate during its straining (with an accuracy of ± 5 %) and the speed of its deflection (with an accuracy of ± 10 %) is developed, allowing thus to promptly receive and process the data. The influence of orientation of the discharge channel in a cylindrical discharge chamber on the process of forming of sheet alloys is experimentally investigated, as well as influence on this process of a relative length of the discharge chamber and the design features of the matrix. Using the developed mathematical model, the process of converting the energy stored in the capacitor bank into the energy of plastic straining of high-strength sheet alloys depending on the geometry of the discharge chamber cavity and the matrix structure is studied. The essential features of loading of plates of high-strength alloys by pressure waves generated by an electric discharge in water are theoretically justified and experimentally confirmed. The patters of plate straining are proposed and justified (theoretically and experimentally), providing a more complete use of the charge energy of the capacitor bank, the greater average straining of the plates and uniformity of strain distribution due to creation of conditions for shear stresses relaxation in the material.
