Object of study: Sport and sports activities for persons with disabilities in the educational sphere Ukraine; Methods: general scientific methods of theoretical level: analogy, analysis, synthesis, abstraction, induction; historical methods (historical and logical, concrete historical, comparative-historical, retrospective); systemic-functional analysis; sociological methods (survey); expert evaluation; teaching (observation and experiment); methods of mathematical statistics. Results - a new conceptual foundations of adaptive sports was created as a socially significant sector of outlining its goals, main tasks, principles and social functions, as a necessary condition for the formation of scientific and educational disciplines for universities; - the structure of the problem field and a model of knowledge about adaptive sports was created as part of the international Olympic movement, which contains general philosophical, and specifically theoretical blocks, and their structure and content; - made complex of model of knowledge about adaptive sport - overall structural characteristics of adaptive sports, found common periodization of the Paralympic movement, deaflympic movement and Special Olympics; The general features of formation of programs and the participants of Games of disabilities; generalized problem of adaptive sports; the main tendencies of further development of adaptive sports in international Olympic movement and the system of special education branch of knowledge physical education and sports and trends of international sport movement of Special Olympics was clarifed; - formed the concept of discipline "Adaptive Sports" to level "bachelor", "specialist", "master", developed the structure and content of educational programs, which consist of general theoretical, social, historical, sports-methodical and sports and organizing content modules and provide for the formation of future specialists in "Sport" expertise on general philosophical, general theoretical specifically theoretical foundations of sport for disabled people and developing skills practice; - conducted theoretical and methodological and experimental substantiation of training programs (athletics, basketball and ski races) for athletes with mental disabilities; - the concept of socially-oriented system of training athletes of Special Olympics was created; - new methodological approaches for trainers, social workers and other professionals working with people with disabilities of various nosological groups was created.
