Objective of the research - bibliographic database authority control. Goal of the research - creation of the tool for bibliographic database authority control in search and information systems. Research methods - analysis, systematization (classification), comparative method and programming. Based on standards and conceptual approaches to authority control in the Libary, defined at the previous stage of scientific research report, technological and methodological documents regulating the creation of authority records database were developed. The workshop presentation on the application of established solutions by cataloguers in their work with author fields was conducted. The creation of the Personal Name Authority File was continued by replenishing it with new authority records and by optimizing existing database content according to MARC21 changes and additions along with RDA requirements implementation. The preparation for the transfer of the test file for verification to the computer library center OCLC with a view to future participation of the Library in the VIAF (Virtual International authority file) project was started. Software approbation for electronic directory of author names of the authority file integrated into the Integrated library system Aleph 500 was developed and conducted. Forecast assumptions concerning the development of the research objective - regular replenishment of authority file with records for personal authors of items the library gets in the process of current and retrospective acquisition should improve the search and information possibilities for users, expand cataloguing toolkit and provide Ukrainian libraries integration into the global information space.
